20th Annual Seedorf / McMeekin 5k Run 2026

The Seedorf / McMeekin 5k Run begins and ends on the Atlantic City Boardwalk, situated in front of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino at Pennsylvania Avenue. Atlantic City Fire Fighters Local 198 hosts this memorial race, which honors Fire Fighter John Seedorf and Police Officer Thomas McMeekin. It is a simple 5k, not a complex race-day arrangement. Advance registration is available, with a higher fee for race-day sign-ups handled under a tent on the boardwalk before the start. Runners proceed south on the boardwalk toward Ventnor, turning around at Montpelier Avenue in Atlantic City before returning to the Hard Rock. The first 100 pre-registered runners receive event shirts. All registered participants are provided with post-race food, discounted drinks, music from a DJ, athlete stretching, and giveaways. The food offerings include fruit cocktail, breakfast English muffins with egg, ham, and cheese, fried white corn tortillas with salsa, and chicken wings with dipping sauces. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, and first-place age-group medals are given for age brackets from 14-and-under to 70-plus. A ceremony follows at The Terrace at Hard Rock.
