The State Race Walking Championships are a winter race-walking meet held at Adelaide Parklands, Park 20, adjacent to the Adelaide Harriers and SA Race Walker’s Clubrooms, near South Terrace and Peacock Road. The SA Race Walker’s Club organizes the event, with Athletics SA supplying the state athletics competition framework for athletes throughout South Australia.
The program focuses on championship road walks, not running races. Events include a half marathon, 10 km, 8 km, 5 km, and 3 km, all tailored to specific age groups. Open and over-35 walkers compete in the half marathon, under-20 and over-50 athletes contest the 10 km, under-18 athletes race the 8 km, and younger junior participants compete in the 5 km or 3 km events. Parking is available on Peacock Road and South Terrace, with start lists published after entries close.
