Woodend Racecourse & Recreation Reserve anchors Gravel Macedon, starting and finishing there. The route heads toward Wombat State Forest and Macedon, avoiding sealed roads. The atmosphere is genuinely off-grid: a gravel day centered on "roads less travelled," forest edges, and views earned through effort.
The course offers a distinct route, currently known to a select few. It features less sealed road, fewer cars, more undeveloped trails, and what organizers describe as "pure gravel riding heaven."
