À propos de cette course
Scenic World serves as the main point of reference: the route ventures into the Blue Mountains, navigating cliff tops, verdant valleys, and ridges that demand effort. UTA100 feels like a standard ultra for trail runners, a course recognized by its specific sections rather than general scenery: Narrow Neck, Ironpot Ridge, Leura Forest, Wentworth Falls, and Kedumba Pass.
Expect a mix of single track and wider trails, featuring bushland, escarpments, ridgelines, and significant elevation changes before the final challenge. After the exertion, runners encounter Furber Steps, described as "the most famous set of steps in trail running," with 951 steps separating weary legs from the finish at Scenic World. The participants are trail runners familiar with the event's demands, and the buckle tradition is straightforward: Gold, Silver, or Bronze is awarded based on performance speed and effort.
