The race honors the memory of Maggie Lee, who served as a counselor at the Epilepsy Association of WNY, was a community activist, a friend, and lived with epilepsy. She passed away from injuries sustained during a seizure. Funds raised will benefit the Epilepsy Association of WNY’s outreach, awareness, and education initiatives, aimed at assisting individuals with epilepsy in leading more independent, productive, and fulfilling lives.

Le Buffalo Home Sellers 5k, c'est un 5k annuel qui se passe à Buffalo, dans Delaware Park. On utilise la Ring Road, près des entrées Jewett Parkway et Parkside Avenue. Ça se passe le matin, début octobre. Il y a des inscriptions pour les adultes et les étudiants. Des options de 5k virtuel sont aussi proposées pour ceux qui courent à distance. La Veterans Race à Buffalo, c'est une course à pied qui se passe en novembre. Ils proposent un 5K, un 10K, mais aussi une marche non chronométrée de 2 miles et même une Kids Cadet Race pour les gamins de 2 à 8 ans. Les départs des courses principales sont à 9h00, et attention, il y a une limite de 800 participants. Pour s'inscrire, c'est ouvert aux civils, aux vétérans, aux militaires d'active et à tous ceux qui soutiennent les troupes. Pour les détails, ils donnent les distances mais pas de parcours précis. Le retrait des dossards, c'est le jour J au Naval Park. Les récompenses sont bien séparées : une catégorie Vétérans et une Civils, avec des tranches d'âge de 5 ans pour le 5K et de 10 ans pour le 10K. Et après la course, tu peux aller à la fête petit-déjeuner "Kegs N' Eggs" chez Other Half Brewing. C'est Destination Races qui gère tout ça, et les fonds récoltés vont à des associations locales de vétérans.

Niagara PAL Santa Dash 5k is a holiday-themed 5K in Niagara Falls, with the route running around the falls before finishing in downtown Niagara Falls. It is built as a community race, with a low entry fee, a student rate, and proceeds supporting local youth. The draw is simple: runners get a short race near one of the best-known natural landmarks in North America, then end in the middle of downtown holiday activity. Early registrants are guaranteed a race T-shirt, and the post-race setup includes family-friendly seasonal activities rather than just a finish line and a walk back to the car.
