The Gočárův běh half-marathon and City Lights Run showcase the city's running culture, while the Decathlon Cyklomaraton Hradec Králové (30km) and longer Ironman 70.3 course exploit the region's accessible cycling routes along river valleys heading toward the Bohemian Upland. Most training happens on towpaths and country roads within 10km of the city centre, with minimal elevation gain until you push toward the hills 20km north.
