21. Freimarktslauf 2026

The Freimarktslauf is a road race in Garrel, starting and finishing on Hauptstraße in the town center. It is organized by the Förderverein für die Leichtathletik im BV Garrel e.V. and is part of the Weser-Ems and Cloppenburg race series. The event is structured as a local running day with various distances, including short children’s races, options for beginners, and longer runs for experienced participants. The shortest events are 400m Bambini runs for children. These are followed by a 1.2km Schnupperlauf, a short introductory run for those new to the event. Students have a dedicated 2.5km race. The 5km race offers team scoring, and the 10km race includes a relay option, allowing clubs, families, school groups, and workplace teams to participate. Registration typically closes the day before the race and is handled through the Freimarktslauf website.
