À propos de cette course
The Sommernachtslauf am Hufeisen is an evening running and walking event in Linsengericht, also listed with Gelnhausen, with the main start around 19:05. Its core races are a 7 km Wald- und Volkslauf and a 5 km walking event for adults, with separate children’s and youth races on the program. The event is part of both the Main-Kinzig Challenge and the AOK Laufserie, so it draws people collecting series points as well as local runners and walkers out for a midweek summer race.
The route uses unpaved forest paths and is slightly hilly, making it more of a small woodland race than a flat road time trial. All competitions share the same finish area. One past edition had about 200 pre-registrations plus roughly 50 late entries, giving it the feel of a compact local event rather than a large city race. A notable result came when Laura Martin became the first woman to win the main race, finishing in 26:26 ahead of Martin Wilck and Benjamin Hartmann; the same report also recorded Anna Fleckenstein winning the student race and Bernd Geis leading the walking course. Laufteam Gelnhausen organizes the event and publishes results and certificates through Raceresult.
