4. Rügen Rund Tour 2026

The Rügen Rund Tour begins and ends at Sellin harbor on the Baltic island of Rügen, starting from Am Bollwerk. This is a long-distance cycling event, emphasizing a full day on the bike over a closed-circuit competition. Participants can choose between a 244 km route circumnavigating the island or an 87 km Classic Tour. The event takes place on a Saturday, running from morning until early evening. Start documents are available for collection at the Tourist Information office near Kleinbahnhof Sellin-Ost. Riders depart Sellin in groups every 10 minutes, with a police escort guiding them to the B196 junction. The routes highlight Rügen’s island scenery. The shorter Classic Tour provides a more accessible option for participants. Cyclists travel from all over Germany to attend, and the event's popularity has grown, partly because of the participation of former professional sprinter André Greipel. The organizers focus on community, outdoor activity, and a laid-back North German atmosphere, rather than intense competition.
