À propos de cette course
The Hochstraßenlauf is a local road running meeting in Weisendorf, Germany, based at the Museum des Heimatvereins Weisendorf on Reuther Weg. Heimatverein Weisendorf e.V. organizes the event, and the program starts in the morning so runners avoid the worst heat. It is a community race rather than an elite-only fixture, with options ranging from 300 m and 1.5 km children's races to 4.5 km, 5 km, and 10 km runs.
The 40th edition gives the race a bit of extra history for a small-town event. The start and finish are at the local heritage museum, which makes the club behind the race part of the setting as well as the organizer. Families can bring young children for the Bambini races, older pupils have their own Schülerläufe, and youth, hobby runners, walkers, and 10 km runners all fit into the same morning schedule. The organizers kept entry fees unchanged for several years before raising them slightly for the anniversary edition, partly because they have more planned for this milestone race.
