7. Lauf durch das Thüringer Schiefergebirge

This trail race begins and ends in Schmiedefeld, a part of Saalfeld located in Germany’s Thuringian Slate Mountains. Participants can select a half marathon or a 9 km race. The 9 km distance is also available for Nordic walkers. The event also offers shorter 2 km and 4 km races for children and young people. The course focuses on forest trails, with approximately 90% on forest paths and 10% on asphalt. It is a challenging route through hilly terrain. The half marathon features roughly 650 meters of elevation change from start to finish, and the marathon has about 1,300 meters.
