About
The Geisenheimer Rhein-Wein-Lauf begins at the Geisenheim wine stand. This running event, held in late September, offers races for children, teenagers, hobby runners, and adults. The shortest race is a 1.060 km loop for children up to age 10. A 2.120 km youth race follows for ages 11 to 14. Runners aged 15 and older can compete in a 4.520 km race, and the main adult race is 10.380 km.
The routes consist of repeated loops. The youth race uses two small laps. The 4.520 km race combines one small lap with one larger 3.460 km lap. The main race consists of three large laps. Each race provides separate age-group results. All finishers get a certificate. The top three children and younger teenagers in each age group receive medals. Adult age-group winners are awarded a bottle of wine, fitting the Weinstand location and adding local Rheingau character.
