À propos de cette course
The Hochwald Ultratrail begins at the Hochwaldhalle on the outskirts of Osburg, a village in Germany’s Rhineland-Palatinate, on the final Saturday in May. This trail-running event offers several distances, from approximately 10 or 24 km to marathon and ultra lengths; the longer courses ascend about 1,100 meters over 42 km and 1,900 meters over 65 km.
The ultra route incorporates three local Traumschleifen, or “dream loops”: Morscheider Grenzpfad, offering vistas of the Hunsruck and the Ruwer and Moselle valleys; Schiefer-Wacken-Weg between Thomm and Fell; and the Romer-Kelten-Pfad encircling Farschweiler and Lorscheid. The 24 km race follows one loop, the middle route uses two, and the ultra completes all three. Stefan Petry organizes it as a private charity run, fostering a family atmosphere where the emphasis is on running for a good cause rather than achieving personal bests.
