Rund um Ennepetal 2026

Rund um Ennepetal is a 60 km running, hiking, and walking event circling Ennepetal in North Rhine-Westphalia, held annually on the last Sunday in August. The full route is divided into five stages, allowing participants to approach it as a single long challenge or engage through shorter options. The course follows the Ennepetal circular hiking route, crossing forests, reservoirs, meadows, and open countryside, accumulating 1,170 meters of elevation gain over the entire distance. The stages vary in length from 9 km to 16 km, with climbs ranging from 130 to 330 meters. One initial section extends from Rüggeberg to Meier am Külchen, offering views over the Bergisches Land. Approximately 100 individuals undertake the entire route, while local clubs from the Klutertstadt coordinate the event with Sportfreunde Ennepetal and collaborators. Organizers provide hazard warnings at marked stops. The event originated from the former Bürgermeister Lauf- & Wandertag before adopting its present name.
