Hinterland-RTF draw serious cyclists to the undulating terrain around the Sieg river valley, with the longer RTF routes climbing into the forested Sauerland plateau; the 46. Hochsauerlandklassiker extends deep into the highland roads for 215km of relentless elevation gain. Running here is secondary—the town centre is compact and flat, but trail runners head into the mixed forests that surround the city.
