À propos de cette course
The Tharandter-Wald-Lauf begins and ends at Waldbühne Hartheberg in Kurort Hartha, a spa district near Tharandt, Saxony, Germany. This public forest running event, held in late August, offers distances from a free 400 m Bambini taster run to 30 km, alongside Nordic walking and a new Forest Marathon. The varied distances accommodate families and mixed-ability groups: 1.2 km for U8 runners and an open class, 2.5 km for U10 and U12 children, 5 km for beginners, 10 km, and a half marathon for experienced runners.
The longer races feature single-loop courses through the Tharandt Forest, emphasizing trail and woods over city roads. The 30 km route ascends approximately 460 m, intended partly for runners preparing for autumn marathons. The half marathon includes about 400 m of climbing, while the 5K is more moderate with around 60 m. A 30 km Run & Bike option allows two-person teams to alternate between running and cycling, with categories for men, women, mixed, and families. Post SV Dresden organizes the event, supported by the city of Tharandt and Pohrsdorfer SV. The race also contributes to regional cup series such as the Lausitz-Laufserie, Lichtenauer Sachsen-Cup, and Niederlausitz-Cup.
