À propos de cette course
The Wendelsteinrundfahrt is a road cycling event held in August, starting and finishing in the village of Au, near Bad Feilnbach in Bavaria. Ski-Club Au e.V. is the organizer. Participants select one of four routes: approximately 50 km, 120 km, 165 km, or a marathon of about 205-210 km. The shortest route includes 625 meters of climbing, and the marathon route features roughly 3,050 meters of elevation gain.
The routes wind through the foothills and lakes surrounding the Wendelstein region. Longer distances extend to locations like Hochries, Spitzingsee, Tegernsee, Seehamer See, Irschenberg, and the Gotzinger Trommel. The event attracts many hobby, leisure, and sport cyclists. Registration can fill quickly, with 1,600 participants signing up in under 24 hours. This ride has taken place for decades and is considered one of Bavaria's significant and long-standing cycling tours. Riders also praise the route quality and the notably good food available at stops.
