Cycling is the national sport (more bikes than people in Copenhagen), and the 2022 Tour de France grand départ left a legacy of bigger sportives — RidetheRoad and the Ironman Copenhagen 70.3 cycling course among them. Denmark is unrelenting flat, which makes it a paradise for time trials and steady-state training but a poor draw for climbers. The North Sea coastline rewards autumn long rides and runs into the wind.
