AraMotz Mendi Lasterketa 2026

The AraMotz Mendi Lasterketa is a mountain running event held in Amorebieta-Etxano, within the Zornotza region of the Basque Country, with its main race day in October. The current program features a 22 km trail with 1,300 m of elevation gain, a 12 km short trail with 650 m of climbing, and a 15 km mountain march with 800 m of climbing, catering to both racers and walkers. The courses traverse the western part of Urkiola Natural Park and the Aramotz karst landscape, with steep inclines and rocky mountain terrain. The Zornotza Mountain Club organizes the event to introduce participants to the local mountains and promote mountaineering. The course is modified annually in collaboration with park environmental managers to safeguard sensitive species. The event has been a qualifier for the Euskadiko Kopa EMF and the Gran Premio Buff Salomon, with previous editions offering distances of 17 km and 28 km.
