Benemerita Trail 2026

The Benemerita Trail begins and ends at La Alfaguara camp in Alfacar, close to Granada, with its races crossing the Sierra de Huétor Natural Park. This mountain trail event takes place near the feast day of the Virgen del Pilar, patron saint of the Guardia Civil, and includes a 42 km marathon, a 25 km trail race, a 12 km open race, and a 12 km hiking option. The marathon involves over 2,050 meters of climbing, and the 25 km race features 1,150 meters of positive elevation. The courses follow forest trails, country paths, and open mountain terrain, with significant ascents and descents within the Alfacar region. Asociación Deportiva Alfamérita organizes the event, with support from the Guardia Civil of Granada. It is approved by the Andalusian Federation of Mountaineering and is part of the UTMB Index Races.
