À propos de cette course
Quebrantahuesos is a long-distance cyclosportive held in Sabiñánigo, Huesca, Spain, each June in the Pyrenees. The full route covers approximately 198 km with 11,483 ft of elevation gain, crossing four mountain passes and crossing into France before returning to Spain. Its name, translating to “bone breaker,” references the bearded vulture, a bird native to these mountains.
The circular course begins and ends in Sabiñánigo, passing through towns like Jaca and Villanúa before ascending toward the high passes. Portalet, at 1,794 meters, marks the highest point. Over 10,000 cyclists participate annually, establishing it as Spain’s largest and one of its most challenging cyclosportives. The event attracts both regular amateur cyclists and well-known figures from Spanish sports, including past participants like Miguel Induráin, Abraham Olano, and Edurne Pasaban. Spectators line the Pyrenean roads, giving the day the feel of an entire cycling region supporting a demanding ride rather than a strictly controlled competition.
