San Silvestre de Alcorcón

The San Silvestre de Alcorcón is a December road race held in Alcorcón, Madrid area. It offers 5 km and 10 km routes on asphalt city streets, starting at 9:30 AM from Calle Parque Ferial, adjacent to the Recinto Ferial, which also serves as the finish line. This event is part of Spain’s San Silvestre running tradition, a custom where communities conclude the year with popular races instead of track competitions. The 10 km race is named the 10 KM Ciudad de Alcorcón, and the 5 km offers a shorter option for participants on the same morning. Both adult distances are designated as non-competitive, fostering a community run atmosphere rather than a championship event. Approximately 1,200 participants are anticipated. The program also features a children’s Christmas race, with youth events scheduled after the main race begins. Club Atletismo Alcorcón organizes the race, with assistance from the Sports Department of Alcorcón City Council.
