The Trail du Vignoble Nantais begins at Parc du Loiry in Vertou, south of Nantes, directing runners onto vineyard paths in Muscadet territory. Held in April, it features seven trail races, with distances ranging from approximately 13 km to over 100 km. The event focuses entirely on off-road running, with courses consisting of 100% paths winding through vineyards, along riverbanks, across plateaus, and over small hills.
The routes trace the Sèvre and Maine rivers, crossing the Nantes vineyard area between the Loire and the bocage. Participants can select a distance suitable for their abilities, from accessible trail runs to ultra-marathons, including a night race. Established in 2008 and often called TVN, the event is organized by the Association des Fondus du Vignoble Nantais. Its wine-country location is central to its identity, promoting runs past significant regional wine cellars and welcoming both local trail runners and visitors for a weekend in the vineyards.
