Wiesbaden runners have the Rhine valley floor and thermal spa parks to themselves, mostly flat terrain ideal for steady-paced work, though the Taunus hills rise immediately south and east. Cyclists own the region: the Hexenturm-Radmarathon and Hexenturm-Rundfahrt are the anchor events, both tackling the forested Taunus climbs and rolling vineyard routes between the Rhine and Frankfurt — elevation gains of 1,500m+ on the longer rides. The Nassau-Rundfahrt offers a slightly gentler 140km loop through similar terrain, and Frankfurt's Nikolaus Duathlon is 21km away if you want urban speed work mixed with a ride.
