À propos de cette course
Porto Carras Athlos is a three-day sports and wellness event held at Porto Carras Grand Resort in Sithonia, Halkidiki, during the Holy Spirit weekend. The running component, part of the Giant Run Series, offers 21 km, 10 km, 5 km, and 1 km distances starting from the marina, allowing participants to select from a short family distance to a half-marathon-style challenge. The broader program includes open-water swimming, beach volleyball, beach soccer, tennis, yoga, pilates by the sea, baby swimming, football clinics, and wellness sessions throughout the resort.
The Giant Run routes begin at the marina and proceed through pine forest trails along the coastline, passing the vineyards of Domaine Porto Carras. The swimming races, known as Skylias Open Water, provide 5 km, 3 km, and 1 km distances in the Toroneos Gulf, utilizing calm Blue Flag waters along the resort's 9 km coastline. The event incorporates local Greek references: the running series is inspired by the Gigantomachy, and the swims pay tribute to Skyllis of Scione, an ancient diver. Beyond the races, attendees can participate in wine tastings at Domaine Porto Carras, noted by organizers as Greece's largest organic vineyard, and a beach volleyball camp led by Olympian Efi Sfyri will inaugurate two new courts at the resort.
