SNF Nostos Run 2026

The SNF Nostos Run begins at the Panathenaic Stadium in central Athens, sending runners through the city as the sun sets. It is part of the open-to-all SNF Nostos event at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, held each summer since 2015. Participants can select a 10 km, 6 km, or a 1 km route for Special Olympics athletes. The 10 km race is for adults and children aged 15 and older, and the 6 km option is open to those aged 12 and up. The route crosses central Athens and concludes at SNF Nostos, where the run integrates into an evening of music and public festivity. The event is coordinated with the nonprofit Regeneration & Progress, with a deliberately relaxed atmosphere; organizers prioritize positive experiences over race times. Entry fees benefit partner nonprofits, and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation triples the total raised. Partner organizations include the Greek groups Lampsi and Pnoi Agapis.
