The Mt. Fuji Hill Climb takes participants up the Fuji Subaru Line towards the 5th Station of Mount Fuji in Yamanashi. This public-road cycling event occurs in June on Japan's most iconic mountain. The race covers 24 km with 1,270 m of elevation gain, averaging a 5.2% gradient. Now in its 22nd year, it is Japan's largest hill climb. The course's moderate gradient and ample time limit accommodate both novice and seasoned cyclists. The route begins at Fuji Hokuroku Park in Fujiyoshida, ascending through the UNESCO World Heritage site of Mount Fuji to the 5th Station. Finishers may witness a cloud inversion below and the expansive foothills of Fuji. Participants include solo riders, teams, families, club cyclists, and individuals aged 12 and up. The day prior, Fuji Hokuroku Park hosts a Cycle Expo, creating a community atmosphere before the ascent.
