Cyclists favour the Herefoss Rundt courses (90km and 140km) which loop through the hinterland, while the shorter Bukkene Bruse (77km) offers a faster coastal alternative. Runners have flatter options around town—Skagerrakmila is the anchor 10km race—but the surrounding hills and forest trails reward exploration beyond the city limits.
