Festiwal Biegów Świętych Mikołajów is a December race day in Toruń. Many runners wear red Christmas hats as they compete. The event offers multiple race options for different participants: a half marathon, 10k, 5k, a 14.73 km Mikołajowo-Kopernikański Run, Nordic Walking, and children's races are all part of the festival. The main start is at noon from the Old Town Square, placing the event's beginning in the center of Toruń, not a remote sports facility.
The half marathon covers 21.1 km, leading runners through the Old Town, a section of Bydgoskie Przedmieście, then along Szosa Chełmińska and Polna toward Barbarka before looping back to finish at the stadium on Bema Street. Alternative routes navigate the historic Old Town streets, the Philadelphian Boulevard, and sections of Zalesie. The unique 14.73 km distance provides the festival with a Toruń-specific Copernican theme, and the Santa hats make the runners easily identifiable to spectators along the route.
