Gdańsk's running and cycling both revolve around the Vistula River and the Baltic coast. Runners tackle the flat Rowerowy Maraton Wisła (42.195km) along the river, while the Runmageddon Gdańsk/Sopot obstacle course (12km) draws crowds from the tri-city area. Cyclists have serious long-distance events—the Robinsonada Pomorska (350km) and Wschód 1200 (400km) are gruelling regional epics—plus gentler flat routes through the Pomeranian lakelands inland, though the coast itself stays sea-level with minimal elevation.
