Quand on veut accumuler des base miles sans bagnoles, on file sur le Chief Ladiga Trail. Le sentier fait 1 miles et relie Michael Tucker Park à des écoles, Zinn Park et d'autres parcs du coin. Le parcours couvre 02 km et gagne +116 m, donc c'est nickel pour une séance d'ancrage propre. En centre-ville d'Anniston, tu as la Canyon Climb 8K, la Publix Woodstock 5K, la Greg Stone Memorial Pancake 5K, et la YMCA and Anniston Orthopaedics Spring 5K Run/Walk. L'Anniston Runners Club fait bien tourner le calendrier, et Piper’s Playhouse, ça donne vraiment ce côté petite scène locale sympa.

La Northeast Alabama Bicycle Association, c'est un peu le centre névralgique pour les cyclistes autour d'Anniston. La NEABA soutient le Chief Ladiga Trail, les McClellan Bike Trails, le Cheaha Challenge Gran Fondo, le Sunny King Criterium, et le Noble Street Festival. Ici, on peut filer sur la route avec des pneus fins, se balader sur la greenway trail, ou attaquer du singletrack bien sympa. Le Chief Ladiga Trail, ça te donne des kilomètres en Z2 depuis Anniston, direction Weaver, Jacksonville, Piedmont, et le Silver Comet Trail en Georgia. Le Chief Ladiga Trail a 3 mi en gravel, et le tronçon Bain's Gap to Moorman Lookout, c'est une sacrée côte en gravel bien raide jusqu'à la crête. Le Mount Cheaha, c'est lui qui donne tout son piquant au gran fondo.

Mai, c'est le gros mois niveau énergie de course ici. L'Anniston Runners Club a des événements en mai comme la Run to the “MAX” for Mental Health, la 2026 Making Tracks 5K, la 5K Glow Run/Walk “Glow &Go,” la Cotton Row Run, et la The Dough Dash 5K Run. L'été, ça change le rythme sans pour autant l'arrêter complètement. La In the Heat of the Night commence à 6 PM, comme ça les traileurs peuvent faire leur séance après le plus gros de la chaleur. L'hiver, il y a un repère simple. Le Half Naked Half Marathon tombe en janvier, et pour les cyclistes, il reste toujours les kilomètres du Chief Ladiga Trail, les McClellan Bike Trails, et les montées en gravel pour bosser tranquillement.
