The Madison Station Half Marathon begins at 7:00 AM beneath the downtown Madison arch and concludes before the red caboose. This half marathon is an RRCA-sanctioned Mississippi State Championship event. A 10K, 5K run, and 5K walk follow in separate waves. The course is fast, featuring pavement, moderate inclines, historic Madison neighborhoods, and a shaded section along the Natchez Trace Parkway multi-use trail. Participants cross the Madison Parkway Bridge near mile 2. Chip timing and aid stations are provided, with a 4-hour time limit for the half marathon. Proceeds benefit local charities such as the Webster Animal Shelter and Extra Table. The post-race gathering includes live music from The Chill, food from the Knights of Columbus, beverages from Fertile Ground Brewery, and offerings of jambalaya and hot dogs. The Mississippi Blues Marathon starts and finishes on the 50-yard line inside Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium at Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi. The event offers a marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, marathon relay, a virtual race option, and a BB Kids Half Mile Fun Run. The longer races begin in the morning, with shorter races commencing an hour afterward. All distances share the same stadium start and finish, bringing runners back into the football complex instead of ending on a street or in a park. Participants receive race shirts, finisher medals, commemorative bibs, and Visit Jackson tote bags. Post-race amenities include jambalaya, fruit, snacks, water, Gatorade, soft drinks, beer for those over 21, and cupcakes for official finishers.
