La Lake Alice Loop, ça te fait environ 2.5 miles, et la lumière du matin à travers la mousse près du lac, ça rend les footings en Z2 super agréables. Depot Park, c'est un tour rapide d'un mile quand t'as pas beaucoup de temps. Ça fait 3 miles. Alfred A. Ring Park, c'est 5 miles aller-retour à l'ombre avec des vues sur les marécages. Le parcours fait 10.01 km avec 42 m de dénivelé positif. Le Peak Pulse Run Club et le Florida Track Club animent bien la scène des groupes de course. Gainesville, on y roule mieux que ce que ça en a l'air sur une carte. Le Gainesville Cycling Club a des groupes pour la route, le trail et la randonnée, donc si tu aimes rouler en groupe, tu trouveras forcément ton bonheur. Il y a une boucle de 6 km avec 155 m de dénivelé que les locaux utilisent pour les base miles, les intervalles et pour se préparer tranquillement aux gran fondo. L'autre boucle du coin, c'est 7 km avec 351 m de dénivelé. San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park, Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park, Newnans Lake State Forest, les limerock roads, le gravel, la terre, le sable et les singletrack, tout ça te force à bien choisir ton vélo. C'est sur Northwest 14th Avenue, Southeast 4th Avenue, Northwest 16th Avenue, Northwest 23rd Street, Center Drive et the bluff que tu trouveras les montées. Le Gainesville Cycling Festival, la Santa Fe Century, la Horse Farm Hundred et la Veterans Day Poker Run, ce sont les grands rendez-vous vélo.

Ici, le printemps et l'automne, ce sont les meilleures périodes pour s'entraîner. De mars à mai et de septembre à novembre, c'est là que les coureurs et cyclistes peuvent profiter au mieux des longues journées en Z2, des intervalles plus intenses et des sorties du week-end sans devoir lutter contre la pire chaleur.
