The Largo Gobbler is a November running race held at 1800 Keene Rd in Largo, Florida. It offers 5K, 10K, half marathon, and marathon distances, all beginning at 8:30 AM. This event is part of the US Road Running series, known for its themed races like Luau, Pirate, Medal Madness, and Viking. Registration must be completed via RunSignup prior to race day, as there is no on-site sign-up. Packet pickup is available only in the 30 minutes before the start. The courses consist of simple out-and-back loops. The 5K involves one loop, the 10K two, the half marathon four, and the marathon eight. A six-hour time limit accommodates walkers and slower runners for shorter distances. Marathon participants must maintain a consistent pace on this very repetitive course. The race was founded and is managed from home by Chris and Rya Lauber; Chris also has experience organizing jet ski races in Florida and previously established the Gulf Beaches Marathon. Post-race, participants can enjoy a gathering with hot food, cold beer, a breakfast bar, and live music.
