Bubble Run | Irvine 2026
SAM OCT 10
Bubble Run Irvine is a family-friendly foam run at Oak Canyon Park in Silverado, California, near Irvine. It follows a relaxed 5K-style format, focusing on participation rather than speed: adults, kids, and people with strollers can run, walk, dance, or play their way across up to 3 miles. Participants typically begin in white T-shirts, allowing the colored foam to create a visual effect by the finish. The course guides participants through Foam Bogs, each containing a different color of 100% safe foam and ample bubbles to coat everyone from head to toe. Staff, known as Bubble-teers, assist in ensuring participants are thoroughly foamed. The event's description likens the experience to moving through Willy Wonka’s factory. Starts are organized in waves, with heats divided into smaller groups, contributing to a day that feels more like a continuous family festival than a standard road race.
Pink on Parade
SAM OCT 24
Luz y Vida 5k, 10k, 15k, Half Marathon
DIM NOV 1
Luz y Vida is a Día de los Muertos run/walk in Riverside, California, with 5k, 10k, 15k, and half marathon options from Ryan Bonaminio Park. A Better World Running organizes it, and the setup is low-key: bib pickup happens the morning of the race, all distances start early, and registration includes a custom finisher medal, a drawstring goodie bag, free photos, free videos, posted results, snacks, and samples. The course uses a marked open path shared with pedestrians, runners, and cyclists, so this is not a closed-road race. The 5k is an out-and-back, the 10k repeats that loop twice, the 15k repeats it three times, and the half marathon uses three 4.36-mile loops. Aid is available at the turnaround and start/finish area with water, Gatorade, and Gu gels. Strollers are allowed, dogs are not, and half marathoners get a 3-hour-15-minute limit with early starts available by request.
DINO DASH
DIM NOV 1
Dino Dash is a Tustin school fundraiser offering running, walking, and cycling options on the same day. Proceeds benefit the Tustin Public Schools Foundation. The event caters to families and racers alike, featuring a 2k fun run, chip-timed 5k and 10k runs, and bike tours for various skill levels, including 15k and 5k family rides. Almost 10,000 participants, including runners, walkers, cyclists, volunteers, and sponsors, attended the last event, demonstrating strong community involvement. The race has a history spanning over thirty years. Its student-created identity contributes to its appeal: a student from Legacy Magnet Academy won the logo competition with a dinosaur carrying companions, a design featured on bibs, shirts, posters, flyers, and social media. The event also provides direct support, with donations covering entry fees for students requiring financial assistance.
Run for Freedom
SAM NOV 7
Run for Freedom covers races with diverse formats: a West Virginia series near Harpers Ferry and an Oakland 5K coinciding with Black History Month. The West Virginia offerings include a full marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K. The Harpers Ferry Half and 5K take place in May, with a larger Freedom's Run event in October. The Oakland Freedom Run is a 5K run or walk in West Oakland, beginning and ending at Raimondi Park, prioritizing community involvement over competitive timing. The Harpers Ferry race crosses Harpers Ferry National Park. Runner accounts describe the half marathon encountering cold rain and fog at Antietam, contributing to the event's strong Civil War history atmosphere. The Oakland route winds past historic Black Panther Party sites, linking the run to themes of freedom, justice, and health equity. Registration operates on a sliding-scale contribution, with proceeds benefiting the Black Panther Party Alumni Legacy Network's survival programs. The race is accompanied by a free wellness festival providing health screenings, food, massage, therapy, and information from local groups focused on nutrition, exercise, stress management, and preventive care.

Terrain Race | Irvine 2026
SAM NOV 21
Terrain Race Irvine is a mud-and-obstacle 5K at Oak Canyon Park, starting in Silverado, California. The race is scheduled for November and covers about 3 miles. It is short in distance but built around getting dirty, climbing, crawling, and hanging on. The course includes mud pits, walls, ropes, monkey bars, and more than 11 other obstacles shaped around the park terrain. It suits runners who want a playful obstacle course more than a standard road race, and the event also has a festival area with vendors after the run.
MVRRC 13th Annual Turkey Run 1M, 5K and 10K Race
SAM NOV 21
The MVRRC Turkey Run begins at Lake Perris Dam, offering participants three distance options: a 1-mile for children, a 5K, and a 10K. This club race has a Thanksgiving theme. The youth 1-mile starts in the morning, followed shortly by the 5K and 10K. The 1-mile is for ages 5 to 12; the 5K and 10K are open to runners 12 and older. The event is included in the MVRRC race series and is in its 13th year. Race-day logistics are straightforward: parking is available at the Fisherman Lot and Lot 1. Online registration remains open until the day before the event, with on-site registration offered before the races. Entry fees are modest, with the kids’ mile having a different price than the 5K and 10K. Additionally, a Lake Perris vehicle entrance fee is required at the gate. An awards ceremony concludes the morning after the races.
Anaheim Turkey Trot 5K/10K -Corner of Katella on the SANTA ANA RIVER TRAIL. Across the street from Honda Center
DIM NOV 22
The Anaheim Turkey Trot begins on the Santa Ana River Trail near Katella, north of the intersection of Katella Avenue and South Douglas Road. This Thanksgiving run in Anaheim offers 5K, 10K, and 1 Mile Fun Run distances, allowing participants to select a distance suitable for a brief family activity or a more extended morning run. The route follows the paved Santa Ana River Trail, situated between two prominent Anaheim landmarks: Angel Stadium and the Honda Center. The event is located across the street from the Honda Center, and the finish line provides a view of Angel Stadium’s Big A. Caren Ware Events manages the race, which includes holiday-themed merchandise and a health-oriented turkey trot setup.
Redlands Turkey Trot
JEU NOV 26
The Redlands Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving morning 5K run/walk held in Redlands, California, featuring a Kids 1K Fun Run prior to the main event. The race begins early, with the children's run at 7:30 a.m. and the 5K at 8:00 a.m., allowing participants to be active before their holiday meal. The event is centered around Sylvan Park, with the start and finish lines located at University Street and Brockton Avenue, close to the University of Redlands. The 5K course winds through Redlands streets and includes sections of the University of Redlands campus, contributing to its distinct college-town atmosphere instead of a standard neighborhood route. The race is professionally timed, offering awards to the top three overall finishers and winners in various age groups. The Redlands Educational Partnership Foundation and Redlands Sunrise Rotary Club are the organizers, with all proceeds benefiting Redlands schools and local charities.
Turkey Trot (Saturday) 5k, 10k, 15k, Half Marathon
SAM NOV 28
The Five Star Thanksgiving Turkey Trot is an Atlanta race held on Thanksgiving morning, offering live 5K, 10K, 15K, and half marathon races, along with virtual options for each distance. The event is intentionally low-cost; runners not qualifying for free entry can register for a small fee, with race-day registration costing slightly more. The race originated from the organizers' decision, two weeks before Thanksgiving, to acknowledge participants from that season's races. This tradition continues: finishers from other Five Star races qualify for one free live 5K entry, though the Turkey Trot itself does not count towards this free spot. Shirts, hoodies, and finisher medals are available as optional purchases, allowing runners to customize their participation.
