Run To Feed The Hungry - Half Marathon, 10k, 5k, 1mi & Kids Dash
Run To Feed The Hungry is a running event in Columbus, Ohio, starting at 500 Maier Place. The event includes a 402 m kids' dash up to a half marathon, accommodating families, new runners, and those seeking a longer distance within the same race series.
The available distances are 402 m, 1 mile, 5K, 10K, and 21.1 km for the half marathon. The event's name indicates a food-relief purpose, and the shorter race options make the day accessible for children and walkers, alongside runners aiming for the 5K, 10K, or half marathon.
Turkey Trails
Turkey Trails is a Thanksgiving-themed U.S. race series featuring a 5K and 10K, with a half marathon, 1 mile run, and kids' dash also available. It is an annual family event, not solely for competitive runners, offering youth pricing for the 5K and 10K and a virtual option for those preferring to run on their own schedule.
The race accommodates adults, first-timers, children, and families together in the same event, allowing participants to select different distances. The 5K, 10K, and half marathon are chip-timed with live results and awards, while the 1 mile and kids' dash are untimed. All runners receive a custom bib, designer shirt, and medal. Children 10 and under get a mini bib and youth shirt. Children can enter the kids' dash without charge if they forgo the swag. Post-race treats and complimentary participant photos enhance the holiday atmosphere.
Johnstown, Alexandria & Granville Turkey Trot
The Johnstown, Alexandria & Granville Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving-season race series in central Ohio, run on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. It offers runners and walkers four options: a half marathon, 10K, 5K run/walk, and a kids fun run, accommodating distance runners, families, and those seeking a short holiday outing.
The races take place in Johnstown, Alexandria, and Granville, featuring chip timing and instant results. Finishers receive a medal, a custom bib, snacks, refreshments, and a performance fleece sweatshirt. A unique element is the personal pie, with flavors including pumpkin, pecan, sweet potato, apple, blueberry, strawberry, and lemon. USA Race Timing & Event Management, based in Columbus, organizes and times the event.
Warm Up Columbus
Warm Up Columbus is a winter race series held in Dublin, Ohio, using a one-mile loop at 655 Metro Place South. Participants can select from a marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, marathon relay, or half marathon relay. A free quarter-mile kids race is also available. The event, originating in 2001, is considered by many runners as preparation for the Boston Marathon or other spring races in central Ohio.
The loop is flat, fast, USATF certified, and qualifies for Boston. Splits, athlete tracking, and pacers are provided for paces ranging from 8:00 to 14:00 per mile, in 30-second increments, with a dedicated walking group. Support is extensive for the race's size: 26 fluid stations provide water and Gatorade, and a restroom is located at every mile marker. Spectators can view runners frequently without moving far. Relay teams of two to five members can distribute the distance as they choose, and children participating in the short race receive a teddy bear upon finishing.
The Muddy Duck
Bellies to Booties
Bellies to Booties is a 5K taking place in Columbus, Ohio. Participants can choose between an in-person race or a virtual option, allowing them to run or walk the distance wherever they are. The in-person 5K will occur on the morning of the event, between 7:00 AM and noon Eastern time, within the Columbus ZIP code 43213.
Holistic Pregnancy and Wellness Services organizes this event to raise awareness about Black maternal and infant mortality. The format is straightforward: local participants can convene for the 5K in Columbus, and individuals not in the area can participate via the virtual 5K without needing to travel to the event location.
