À propos de cette course
At the 0 Degree Winter Trail Festival, runners select 5ish, 10ish, or 15ish miles rather than a set road-race distance. The event takes place in December at Powder Mills Park in Pittsford, New York, with Wadhams Lodge as the hub for each loop. It is a winter trail run on mostly unpaved terrain, and the format is straightforward: one approximately five-mile loop, completed once, twice, or three times based on the distance each runner selected.
The course features singletrack in Powder Mills Park and returns runners to Wadhams Lodge after each loop, allowing for an easy stop at five miles if conditions become too difficult. An early race review mentioned a 12-degree start and a hill so steep that a rope was provided near the summit for assistance. TrailsRoc and race director Eric Eagan organize the event, which has been held since 2013. It is also a Green Race: aid stations are refill-only, cups are not provided, and all runners must carry their own hydration system.
