À propos de cette course
Hogpen Hill Climb combines a challenging 18K mountain run with a more relaxed 5K at Unicoi State Park in northeast Georgia. The 18K begins late morning, ending at the summit of Hogpen Gap. This climb is difficult enough that organizers rank it among the toughest races in Georgia, the South, and potentially North America. The 5K starts earlier near the park's beach house, circling Unicoi Lake.
The two races use the same event infrastructure but demand distinct efforts from participants: one is a lake loop, the other a point-to-point ascent where finish-line arrangements are important. 18K runners may check a bag for warm clothing at Hogpen Gap, as private vehicles are restricted from the finish area. Post-race awards are presented at the Park beach house. Participants receive an event shirt, and race proceeds benefit Northeast Georgia Habitat for Humanity's operational expenses and home construction projects.
