Anacortes Santa Run

The Anacortes Santa Run is a December 5K held in Anacortes, Washington. All participants receive a full Santa suit to wear during the run. The main race begins in the morning with a limit of 600 participants and features a group start accompanied by Christmas carols. A Run with Rudolph Kids' Dash is also available for children in third grade and younger, an 800-yard run where participants receive antlers and a gift. The 5K course is flat, looping around Cap Sante Marina, making it suitable for families, beginners, and casual holiday runners. Each registration supports the Anacortes High School Cross Country Team. Some high school runners participate as elves in the Beat the Elves challenge, starting five minutes after the main group. The top male and female finishers receive a gallon of eggnog, and elves who catch Santa are awarded a sticker. Post-race refreshments include cookies, coffee, hot cocoa, and other treats.
