À propos de cette course
Oktoberfest Run Chicago/Evanston is an October fun run offering 5K, 10K, and half marathon distances. It centers on an Oktoberfest theme, encouraging Bavarian attire and incorporating the German concept of Gemutlichkeit, or friendliness, into its identity. The event uses a small, wave-based format instead of a large city race, with each wave closing upon reaching its capacity. Both runners and walkers are welcome, all paces are accommodated, and participants under 18 require a guardian.
The event maintains a relaxed approach to racing: timing is optional, no chips are used, and runners may self-track using apps like Strava, RunKeeper, or Nike Run before submitting results online. Assistance with timekeeping is available for those who request it. A virtual run option and a waitlist are provided when in-person waves are full. The participant package includes a running shirt (shipped within the US), a finisher medal, a towel or giveaway item, a digital training pack, online results, a completion certificate, and an invitation to local run clubs.
