À propos de cette course
The Chino Grinder begins and ends in Chino Valley, Arizona, a gravel road cycling event held in October. It is Arizona's original and longest-running gravel grinder, with routes primarily on dirt and gravel: approximately 75 to 95 percent of the riding is unpaved. Participants select from multiple distances: the 107-mile Full Grind, the 62-mile Half Grind, the 45-mile Fine Grind, and the 24-mile Fun Grind. Duo and e-bike categories are available on select routes.
The long route follows the Overland Historic Road Trail from Chino Valley towards Whitehorse Lake near Williams before returning to Chino. The terrain is not technical but is challenging, featuring frequent climbs and descents. Elevations range from about 3,800 to 7,300 feet. The field is limited to 600 cyclists, attracting a blend of regular gravel racers, endurance cyclists, e-bike riders, and individuals new to long off-road rides. Aid stations are equipped, volunteers are integral to the event's culture, and the primary difficulty involves pacing strength, speed, and altitude across a predominantly unpaved Arizona course.
