The Feed a Veteran 5K begins at 8:00 AM at Old Hickory Golf Course in Woodbridge, Virginia. Runners and walkers participate to fund food for homeless veterans. This November 5K is more than a fitness event; entry fees and donations support local charity work for veteran assistance.
After finishing, participants can pack the food their race entry funded. This includes hot meals with two sandwiches and soup, plus care packages with hygiene items, bottled water, and nonperishable food. Those meals are delivered to homeless veterans in Washington, DC that same afternoon. The organizers' broader efforts include weekly meal deliveries for veterans in DC.
