Florence Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk

The Florence Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk is a Thanksgiving 5K based at Briggs Elementary School in Florence, South Carolina. The main race starts in the morning and is open to both runners and walkers, with strollers, dogs, and other animals allowed on the course. Families also get a short Gobbler Wobbler Kids Dash, an untimed 50-yard run for children age 10 and under. The 5K is a measured 3.1-mile course through Florence neighborhoods, with a water stop that participants pass twice. Costumes are encouraged, which gives the morning more of a community holiday feel than a serious race-only setup. Finishers can earn medals while supplies last, 5K entrants may receive participant shirts, and both the 5K and kids dash use custom race bibs. Overall and age-group awards follow after the kids dash, and results are posted live through RunSignup.
