À propos de cette course
Frigid Beast Feast is a multiday trail race at Tickfaw State Park near Springfield, Louisiana, offering distances from a 3 Miler up to a 150 Miler. Every race uses the park’s River Trail as a 3-mile loop, allowing shorter runners to complete one lap while ultra runners return through the same start-finish area. The setting is wilder than a typical park path; organizers warn that poisonous snakes and alligators may be present on or near the trail. Support is simple and loop-friendly, with an unmanned halfway aid station providing water, electrolytes, snacks, and ice, alongside a main aid station at the start and finish.
The course is situated within a park featuring over a mile of boardwalks and four distinct environments: cypress and tupelo swamp, bottomland hardwood forest, mixed pine and hardwood forest, and the Tickfaw River. The main aid station embraces the "feast" aspect of the name with cooked food and race-day staples including bacon, PB&J, chips, quesadillas, grilled cheese, cookies, potatoes, gummies, and vegan options. Runners have lodging options within the park at improved campsites, unimproved campsites, cabins, or a group camp; the cabins are equipped with basic cookware, dishes, towels, and linens. Awards and swag are detailed by distance and place, and the event provides discounts for military members, donors, and first responders who submit proof within the required window.
