The 4th annual event for women identifying mountain bikers is here. Now under the non-profit shredHER Des Moines Mountain Bike Association, the event aims to make mountain biking more accessible. Riders can choose Center Trails for a challenge, or J-11 and Denman's for a more relaxed ride or for those with children. All participants are entered into a prize drawing. A skilled female mechanic will be on-site with tools, and a certified skills instructor will offer free basic lessons. Bikes are available to borrow. Coaches will supervise children. The event focuses on building the women's mountain biking community.
