À propos de cette course
Last Man Standing is a backyard ultra held on Labor Day weekend at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, Maine. Runners begin at noon on Saturday. They have 60 minutes to complete a 4.2-mile trail loop. Those who finish within the time limit can start the next loop on the hour. The race repeats this test until only one runner remains.
The loop crosses wooded trails at Pineland Farms, featuring double track sections and moderate climbs instead of a flat road pace. New trail runners might extend their distance beyond previous limits, while experienced ultrarunners use the format to gauge their endurance. Organizers supply a large tent, water, and some snacks, with additional food available for purchase Saturday afternoon and evening. Racers are responsible for their own nutrition. To claim victory, the last runner must finish one loop more than the second-place finisher; if this does not occur, no winner is declared.
