Miles for Smiles 5k On the Runway 2026

Miles for Smiles 5k On the Runway is a 5k run/walk starting at 8:00 a.m. at Pompano Beach Airport in Pompano Beach, Florida. Participants run and walk on the airport grounds instead of a typical downtown course. The event funds Broward Children’s Center programs that assist infants, children, and young adults with special needs. The race includes chip timing, finisher medals, custom shirts, participant photos, music, and a DJ. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers overall, and to winners in age groups ranging from the youngest children to the 90+ division. Packets can be picked up before race day or on race morning. The event’s history connects to Broward Children’s Center’s work with medically fragile and developmentally disabled children and young adults since 1971.
