À propos de cette course
The NOON Year's Eve 5K is a New Year's Eve race in Charlotte, North Carolina, starting from McAlpine Creek Park at 8711 Monroe Road. Rather than waiting until midnight, participants begin with a countdown at noon, then run a timed 5K with an additional split for the final mile of the year. This is the event's fourth year, and the first three editions sold out. Walkers and runners of all paces are welcome.
The 5K starts and finishes within McAlpine Creek Park on a certified cross-country course featuring a crushed gravel surface, lake views, and parkland. Awards are given to overall and age-group winners, with distinct prizes for the fastest last mile. A short Kids Dash runs from the 5K start line, using a flat shortcut to the finish; parents may accompany their children. 5K entrants receive a long-sleeve race shirt, finisher medal, and post-race lunch and drinks. A Go Green option allows participants to forgo the shirt and medal.
