À propos de cette course
The Raven Trail Races take runners into the Seven Mountains region of Bald Eagle State Forest in Pennsylvania. Routes traverse Poe Valley’s dark pines, rocky terrain, and quiet woods. This fall trail event offers a 10K covering approximately 6.4 miles with 1,500 feet of elevation gain, and a half marathon of about 13.6 miles with 2,900 feet of gain.
The courses combine technical remote singletrack, accessible doubletrack, steep ascents, rocky climbs, stream crossings, and scenic overlooks. The race incorporates Edgar Allan Poe themes, featuring Raven-themed finisher awards. The post-race gathering serves ham and bean soup (with a vegetarian option) prepared in a kettle, alongside opportunities to share trail experiences or recite poetry. It is primarily intended for experienced trail runners, though well-prepared hikers are welcome if they show respect for the environment. Aid stations serve both distances; the half marathon route includes Dry Hollow, Penns View, and Mountain Church, while the 10K utilizes Mountain Church.
