À propos de cette course
Spirits Run for ALS 6.6K, Stop #4 in Wilmington, Illinois. This event is part of the Spirits Run for ALS 6.6K Illinois Series and coincides with international endurance runner Enric Casacuberta beginning leg 4 of his journey along historic Route 66 to raise awareness and funds for ALS. This is a noncompetitive, community-focused 6.6K event suitable for runners, walkers, families, and supporters of all paces. The Wilmington route features the city's Gemini Giant. Participants will use sidewalks, pedestrian paths, and marked crosswalks. No streets will be closed, but volunteers will assist with wayfinding and safety. The event aims to combine Route 66 history, community spirit, and support for ALS research and advocacy. If community turnout is high, a request for limited road closures may be submitted to improve participant safety and visibility. Start times are approximate and may vary depending on Enric Casacuberta's arrival in Wilmington. Participants should arrive 30 minutes early and expect potential delays.
